We girls all own one. Probably we’ve already worn it in sumless variations. Elegant with a white blouse. Casual with a black v-neck top. Cute with a ruffled top. Who’s not guilty to have a denim mini skirt hanging in the wardrobe?

Only recently I showed that a midi skirt worn over skinny jeans can look quite cool – well, of course it’s a matter of taste and I may caused fierce head-shaking and unfollow button hitting. But it seems like currently I’m just bored by these run-of-the-mill outfits made of perfectly harmonizing colors and perfectly fitting pieces. Shortly: Outfits in which a woman can’t go wrong.

Now, how to wear a classic denim skirt in a different and unexpected way? Easypeasy (I just had to use this word). Slip into a loose fitting circa knee-length dress, pull over a mini skirt, et voilà here you go with an outfit you don’t spot on the streets daily but which is although suitable for many occasions as it doesn’t show much skin, is totally comfortable and easily transforms into a simple top-skirt-combo in a breath by simply pulling up the dress. Try it out and tell me what you think! Have a good start into the new week my loves!

  63. These photos are brilliant. I get what you mean about a lot of look recently being very much ‘put together’ (guilty as charged, I’m afraid!), so this makes a welcome change. I’d have never thought of this, it’s such an unusual and yet entirely stylish look on you :)

  64. You have such unique style! Love it.

  67. Cool look, I love the necklace.

  68. I am actually LOVING the look;’ it’s unconventional but the skirt adds such an interesting layer and texture to the entire outfit! I don’t think I have the guts to try this out as of now, but I’ll keep the idea in mind. How did the people in the streets react to your wearing of this outfit, I really do want to know!

    May | THE MAYDEN

    • I actually excepted some strange views but I couldn’t notice any surprisingly ;-) I guess because actually the outfit is quite classy though wearing a mini skirt over a dress is something new. But the colors are very set and there’s not much skin showing. People rather start staring at someone as soon as more skin is visible as I experienced. xx

  69. Though I didn’t shake my head or say in my head, “way too much” with your last post, I did realize I would never wear that. It’s not my style. It’s not a point of dressing that I would go. And in knowing so, I could never pull the look off. As girls, we can totally tell when someone doesn’t seem authentic or are really able to pull the look off well. I know my limit, I always stay in my lane as they say. However I can totally appreciate the look/style. A really good friend/co-worker of mine rocks this look and does it like a pro. You girls can lead the pack, I’ll just watch from the sidelines & cheer you on.

    • I totally know what you mean, I see styles or specific items (liek culottes) on other girls and be like “WOW. A-m-a-z-i-n-g!” But then slipping into that outfit or piece of clothing myself I feel totally ridiculous. Hahaha. Some things are just meant to be for others but not for oneself.

  70. Always looking so chic, babe<3
