Two days later, I finally found time to edit and sort out the pictures of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Days Zurich Opening Gala which took place last wednesday. Four designers were showcasing their collections for the upcoming spring/summer season! But before the start of the shows (which are all taking place at the very same place, one after another) we met up with all the people we haven’t seen for a while, took photos in front of the beautiful and super classy Mercedes-Benz S-Class and enjoyed the most delicious drink you can imagine (seriously need to find out the ingredients) at the VIP tent.
To be honest, I was somehow not really impressed by the collections as they were nothing new to me. Specifically with one eye on the shows in Milan, Paris etc. But for Switzerland, it’s probably the most fantastic and enjoyable event and it was perfectly organized (believe me, this is not a given by far!). But how else could it be with Mercedes-Benz as title sponsor, ’cause they obviously know what they do! Look at all the Fashion Weeks and other fashion related events they’re supporting.
At these lines: Have you ever been wondering what’s the connection between cars and fashion? Well, actually I find that they have quite a lot in common. Both are controlled by trends and design and both are affecting on the taste and need of the consumers. I’d almost claim that cars are the masculine clothes. Aren’t they? While women have their dream designer clothes, men have the same passion for cars. And both are kind of statements which are used by some people to show their ranks. So while thinking about all these connections between cars and clothes it becomes more and more natural to me that Mercedes-Benz is taking so much care to the fashion world. Isn’t it.
Back on the collection topic, my very favorite was the one by Felder Felder (watch few pictures)! Which one was yours? Let me know in the comment section at the end of the post and stay tuned for the next post which is dedicated to my look for the shows, especially this awesome dress. I thought it deserves its own independent outfit post, so find out more about where I got all the single garments from in the upcoming post which will be released at sunday!
